Chequered Ribbon Association become Friends of Peacekeeping - 27 August 2009
During the Annual General Meeting of the APMPC, an unannouced donation was made by the President of the ACT " Checkered" Club , Mr Craig Bartell of the ACT Police Legacy. Mr Bartell presented a cheque for $ 5000 which was gratefully received by the APMP Vice Chair.
Mr Bartell said that "the Memorial Project is a very worthy cause because not only does Australia have Police deployed to Peacekeeping operations but, a number have paid the ultimate sacrifice".
The Chequered Ribbon Association is now listed as Friends of Peacekeeping.
