Chairman thanks RSL (QLD) for their donation of $10,000 to the Memorial - 24 July 2009
The Chairman APMP visited the RSL Queensland State Headquarters in Brisbane on the 24th July to brief the Queensland State President, Mr Doug Formby and staff on progress with the Memorial and to present to them an APMP “Friend of Peacekeeping” Certificate to acknowledge their kind donation of $10,000 to the Project last year.
Mr Formby noted that the important role that young Australians are undertaking in peace and security missions around the world often in difficult and dangerous conditions. He noted that the RSL in Queensland were pleased to provide this assistance to the construction of a national Memorial that will acknowledge the contributions of our past, present and future peacekeepers. He assured the Chairman of the APMP that the RSL (Queensland Branch) would continue to take every opportunity to promote the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project, including reference to it in the State RSL News.
