In response the Chairman APMP, Major General Tim Ford, thanked the UNPAA for their strong support to the Memorial and for the outstanding service of Australian police contingents on United Nations and Australian peace operations over many decades. The Chairman noted that the UNPAA had now contributed a total of $3000 to the APMP. He encouraged the UNPAA to aim for the target of contributing a total of over $5000 to the project and thus achieving the APMP status of a “Friend of Peacekeeping”.
