David Vinen

David was a member of the Australian Regular Army. He has been involved in various operations including being a strategic analyst during the 1990-91 Gulf War. In 1992 he was posted to the U.K. after which, in 1993 he was deployed to the United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM I and II). David returned to a Special Forces unit where he assisted in the development and refinement of evacuation plans for the Australian Contingents deployed to Somalia, Rwanda and Bougainville. He has been awarded the Chief of the Defence Force Commendation, and the Chief of the General Staff Commendation for his work during the Gulf War and Somalia.

Following his discharge from the Army, David became a Paramedic specialising in Mass Casualty incidents, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Confined Space Rescue and Advance Trauma Life Support before becoming a Trauma Life Support Instructor.

David now manages the web sites and information systems of the APMP, the Australian Peacekeeper and Peacemaker Veterans' Association, and the Australian Intelligence Corps Association.
